Dr. Gordon A. Weaver

February 2, 1937 - April 2, 2021

Dr. Gordon A. Weaver died on April 2, 2021, at age 84, after an illness that was both long and short, depending on when you start counting.

 

A native of Milwaukee, Gordon was an acclaimed writer and a professor of creative writing at universities in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Vermont, and Wisconsin. He retired to the Milwaukee area in the ‘90s.

 

He is survived by his former wife, their three daughters and six grandchildren, his girlfriend of some 20 years, family and friends in the area and elsewhere, many grateful former students, and the countless characters of his own invention who populate his novels and short fiction.

Judy,Christina,Anna,Jessica,Barbara: It is with great sadness I write as we JUST learned of Gordon’s passing. We go back to HS with him where John and Gordon were graduated in Jan 1955. He was such a prolific writer and in each of his books he inscribed something personal to us, And so, it is hard to say goodbye to his family this way without knowing anyone’s whereabouts Please know Gordon was loved by us, John & Karen
