(Nee Lusty) Of Milwaukee / Glendale. Age 93, died on Monday evening, January 9, 2012, at a nursing home in Glendale, Wisconsin. She was born on May 2, 1918, in the city of Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Sadie Marie Lusty (nee Wood) and Louis Raymond Lusty. Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold Edward Landers on November 14, 1936. Harold preceded her in death on September 20, 1978. She attended Girl's Tech in Milwaukee from 1933-1935. She enjoyed her cooking classes. She dropped out of school just six months before her graduation. In these early years, she formed the basics of her personality: enjoyment in working hard, satisfaction in housely chores, grit to stick out difficult situations, enjoyment of conversations, a love for reading and writing, the ability to get along with difficult people, a desire to control her environment, a love of music (in the age before TV and Radio-listening to records on a wind-up victrola). Dorothy worked many years at Globe Union on assembly lines making roller skates. In her retirement, she worked for numerous families, house and dog sitting. She was extremely fond of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was diligent in sending birthday and anniversary cards to all 17 of them and her many friends. She shared her enjoyment of knitting and crocheting with gifts to family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Mourning her passing are her daughter, Norma Bruss (nee Landers) and son, Harold Keith (Janet) Landers and their children, Jeffrey Keith Landers, Kurt Steven (Sarah) Landers and their children, Michael, Joshua, Jeremy and Jessica, Sheri (Steven) Parker and their children, Rose and Matthew, and Laura (Don) Sime and their daughter, Rachel.
