Doreen Joy Gilbertson

Entered God’s loving arms on April 2, 2023 at age 86. She joins her husband John in heaven. Loving mother of Phyllis (Steve Reiss) Kirchner-Reiss, Jeanette (Scott) Dahl, Denise (Jamie Pecor) Mecha, Nadine (Jim) Denk, John (Jenny) Gilbertson, and Raymond (Toni) Gilbertson. Proud and loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Diane Schultz, Karen (the late Doug) Mann, Cheri (Wally) Severinsen, Sheila (Tom) Martin, Sandy (Mike) Jacobi and Homer (Patricia) Schultz. Also loved by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. Preceded in death by her grandson Joseph Bischoff and sister Kollet (the late Spencer) Sundquist.

Doreen “Grandma Joy” was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to being the best grandmother she could be for her grandchildren. She loved playing board games with her grandchildren during her many years of immobility.

She dances now in heaven with her husband, John (Jack).

A private Mass will be held for Doreen.
