Entered God’s loving arms on Friday, July 12, 2019.
Donna was raised in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She always had a love of music. She graduated from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. She was the high school choir director at Waukesha South, where she met her beloved husband Tom. They were married on July 13, 1963 and were inseparable for 56 years. Raising her children and being there for them was very important to her, so she took a break from teaching when Bill and Ann were born. During this time, to fulfill her love of music, she taught piano lessons in her home after school. She then taught elementary music in the Waukesha Public Schools, putting on incredible musicals that her students still remember. In retirement, she was the accompanist for the Milwaukee Children’s Choir and served on their board of directors. Most recently, she was the pianist for the church services at Fairway Knoll. She also enjoyed working with her grandchildren helping them with their musical pursuits. She was a proud parent and grandparent, attending all of their sports, music, drama, and school events. She loved sports, watching the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers whenever she could. Donna also loved golfing, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. She was the life of the party. Her family was everything to her. She was well known for treating everyone like family, being sure not to exclude anyone.
Beloved wife of Thomas Mitchell. Loving mother of Bill (Terri) Mitchell and Ann (Shawn) Moore. Proud grandmother of Samantha Moore, Ian Moore, and Nick Mitchell. Cherished cousin of Bev (the late Parky) Parkinson, Joyce (Kurt) Krahn and Kathy (Dick) Runte. Devoted friend of Dona Moore. Donna is also survived by many dear family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Minnie Braeger.
