Diavionne “Dee Dee” Syniah Henley was born on March 7, 2003, in Milwaukee, WI to her parents Levonda Cox and William Lavelle Henley, Jr. God decided that Diavionne had fulfilled her purpose on this earth, and peacefully called her home on February 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Diavionne was blessed with a captivating personality and she always commanded the room whenever she walked in. People naturally gravitated to her, no matter where she was in the world, due to her unique sense of style, energetic personality, comical sense of humor, contagious laugh, and free spirit. Diavionne never knew a stranger. She welcomed everyone with open arms of love and never ended any interaction with her friends or family without saying “I love you”.
Diavionne’s childhood was filled with laughter, love, fun, and adventures. Though she was young, she got to travel the world, and she learned to embrace and respect diversity within other cultures. Diavionne received her formal education at Assata High School in Milwaukee, WI. She received several post-high school certifications in early childhood education, community-based residential facilities (CBRF), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). She gained meaningful employment at Benevolence Adult Family Home in Milwaukee, WI where she worked as a dedicated Caregiver. Diavionne’s hobbies included cutting hair, styling and designing clothes, playing basketball, singing, dancing, and spending time with family. She loved holidays and she was always “the life of the party”.
Diavionne dedicated her life to Christ through baptism on November 15, 2009, at Midwest Church of Christ in Milwaukee, WI. No matter what challenges or obstacles she faced in her life, she always remained strong in her faith in God. Diavionne loved singing in her church choir and participating in church programs.
Diavionne was preceded in death by her beloved God mother Shannon King, her God father Chaze Duke, her great-grandmothers Elizabeth Cox and Mary Katherine Wilkins, her great-grandfather Ananias Wilkins, her grandfather William Henley, Sr., and her cousins Quintessa Gaines, Tavion Milams, and Shatesa Henderson.
Diavionne was survived by her mother Levonda Cox, her father William (Monyon) Henley, Jr., her sister Zion Cox-Whitaker, her brothers Donovan Sanders and Donveon Sanders, her God brother Jeremy Zanders, Jr., her God sisters Josephine Dillard and Destiny King, her grandparents Earlene Gray and Ashley Cox, her aunts Veronica Powell and Brittni Gray, her uncles Nickeva Powell and Anthony Gleghorn, Sr., her God mother Latoya Tharpe, her beautiful bonus blessing Brooklyn Ward, and a host of other loving family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Service will begin at 12:00 PM.
