Diana M. Shauger passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 74. She was born on May 27, 1949, to G. Arthur and Edna Shauger in Milwaukee. Diana attended Emanuel Philipp Elementary School in Milwaukee, graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where she pursued her passion for the Arts.
Diana is survived by her beloved fiancé, Michael L Pomes of South Milwaukee; her loving sister, Sharon (Jerry) Sanders of Ronda, North Carolina; her brother, John (Kathy) Shauger of Buford, Georgia; her nieces, Heidi Shauger, Debra (Andrew) Kuehl, Ginger (James) Evans, Karen (the late Donald “Craig”) Winslow, Denise (Donald “Doug”) Bobbitt, Jennifer (Casey) Gardner; her nephews, Walter, Jr. (Amy) Vaughan and Steve (Kimberly) Vaughan, Mark (Amber) Vaughan; her many friends, relatives, and her beloved and precious cat, Tiger. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Ann Vaughan (Walter, Sr.).
Diana was formerly employed with Milwaukee County Parks & Rec Senior Citizen Centers, Union Stewart Local 882, American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees; and Director of West Allis Senior Citizen Center. She was active in the Wisconsin Geological Society and Holiday Folk Fair.
Diana’s Visitation and Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at South Milwaukee United Methodist Church, 1327 Marshall Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM, and the Celebration starts at 11:00 AM. Inurnment took place at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Memorials may be made in Diana’s name to South Milwaukee Human Concerns, Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa; or Wisconsin Humane Society, Milwaukee.
