Given to us on November 1, 1957; returned to her Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the age of 52 years. Preceded in death by her father, John Winski, and her grandparents, Arvid and Bertha Holmquist, and John and Martha Winski. Survived by her best friend, soul mate and love of 20 years, Joel Wentland, her precious daughter, Ashley Oravetz of California, her loving mother and step-father, Joyce (Winski) and Jack Jahntz, sister Diana (James) Mantz, brother John (Mary) Winski and sister Theresa (Donald) Konkel. Also survived by her precious nieces and nephews; Jeremy (Dena), Joel and Kara Konkel, Jonathan and Justin Winski and Lauren (Brian) Max and her great-nephew Nolan Konkel.Dawn was a beautiful, loving and caring person who will be missed by all. She was an accomplished classical pianist who also played the flute, bassoon and guitar and excelled at gymnastics. She attended UWM and MATC and received her RN degree. She was an employee of Aurora Medical Center until 2008 when she was diagnosed with ALS. She fought a good fight for over two years, and chose no heroics, but rather preferred to leave this world of pain and suffering to be with the Lord. Our greatest love and appreciation goes to Joel Wentland for the selfless care he provided to Dawn during the entire length of her illness, enabling her to remain at home. Also, many thanks to the doctors, nurses and employees of the Franklin Urgent Care of their donations of PTO hours, fund raisers and their care and concern curing Dawn's illness. Special thanks to Pastor John G. and Diane Davis and the congregation of Poplar Creek Church for their prayers, compassion and support. All praise and glory belong to the Lord our God for His grace, mercy and tangible blessings, which are renewed every day. Great is His faithfulness!"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write: Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."Revelation 14:13Visitation at the Funeral Home Thursday, April 22, 4-6:45 PM.
