Reverend David Alvin Thomas, 63 years old, was called to the Heavenly Father on August 20th in Atlanta, Georgia due to cardiac arrest.Reverend Thomas was born July 5, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana, to Elder Moses Thomas and Evangelist Marie Parnell Thomas. In March 1953 Reverend Thomas' family moved from Muncie to Milwaukee where he graduated from North Division High School in 1968. In 1972 Reverend Thomas took over the Revival Center Church of Jesus Christ in Milwaukee from his mother, Evangelist Thomas, who passed away from breast cancer. In 1978 Reverend Thomas moved to Los Angeles to continue his ministry. Reverend Thomas moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta in 1983 and lived there until his passing.Reverend Thomas was a self-taught organist and guitar player who wrote many songs of praise to glorify the Lord.Reverend Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; Evangelist Marie Parnell Thomas and Elder Moses Thomas and two brothers; Edward and Stephen Thomas. Reverend Thomas will meet his son, Ebony Tremaine Thomas, in Heaven. He is survived by his four sons; Shannon Levar Thomas and his wife Raysheena of Richmond VA, Davonne Alpha Thomas of Indianapolis, Devon Omega Thomas and his wife, Danielle of Evans GA, and Michael Samuel Thomas of Indianapolis. All of his children are sons of his former wife, Texanna Leslie. He also is survived by his sister; Mother Barbara Jean Anderson of Milwaukee, three grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.There will be a HOMEGOING CELEBRATION on Friday, August 31, 2012 with a viewing at 10:00 AM and a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at GREATER PHILADELPHIA COGIC, 2947 North Martin Luther King Drive, with Bishop John Barton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery.
