David A. Honkanen

David A. Honkanen, 80, of Brown Deer, Wisconsin passed away Monday, March 4, 2024.

Dave was born April 10, 1943 in Ironwood, Michigan. Son of John and Jennie (Risku) Honkanen. He attended J. E. Murphy High School in Hurley, Wisconsin, graduating in 1961.

On February 10, 1968, Dave married Kathy Gray in Ishpeming, Michigan. Dave worked at Milsco Manufacturing for 43 years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and camping with family and friends during his retirement. Dave was a hard-worker with lots of determination, what the Finns called “SISU.”

Dave is survived by his loving wife Kathy, sons John, Bill (Jen), daughter-in-law Kelly, 5 grandchildren Olivia, Madeline, Kyle, Toby and Leo. Further survived by sisters-in-law Donna, Phyllis and brother-in-law Bob (Mary) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son Paul, his parents, two sisters, Janice Johnson and Elaine De Mario, and brother Don.
