Daniel W. Mastalir “Dan”, age 46, of Sussex, Wisconsin, passed away on January 5, 2026.
Dan is survived by his wife Tina, his children Skylar and Hunter, his father, Gary Mastalir, and was preceded in death by his mother, Carla Mastalir.
Dan was a devoted husband to Tina and a proud father to Skylar and Hunter, who were the center of his world. He was a loving brother to Renee Jones and a cherished brother-in-law and son-in-law. Dan was a fun-loving and caring uncle to Tyler Jones, and Liam and Levi Kwapil. He was deeply loved by his extended family, co-workers, and Best Friends.
Dan dedicated 25 years of service to PBBS, where he was respected for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and commitment. Outside of work, Dan embraced life fully. Hunting held a special place in his heart—not for the sport alone, but for the time it gave him with his Pop. Those moments in the woods were filled with tradition, quiet conversation, and lasting memories. An avid bow hunter, Dan took great pride in sharing that tradition with his children.
Dan loved riding his Harley, spending time around campfires, fishing, trap shooting, bowling, baseball, pool, and bags. He enjoyed gathering with friends and family and never missed attending the Annual Monches Chicken Fest.
Music was a constant in Dan’s life, with tastes ranging from Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash to AC/DC, Slayer, Pantera, and everything in between. Known for his sharp humor and infectious laugh, Dan proudly referred to himself as the “World’s Greatest Shit Stick Player,” a title that perfectly captured his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him.
A Visitation to celebrate Dan’s life will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Dan’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the friendships he built, and the countless stories that will continue to be told. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
