I just found out this wonderful person has passed on. She taught our son in the Early Education program at Irving. His precise disability does not matter other than to say that his prognosis was very bleak. However, he completed college and now has a job as a computer programmer. Yes, there have been struggles and there will continue to be more in the years ahead. But Cindy Vitale and others at Irving who were a part of her team made all the difference. They gave my son a better life. She's in heaven.

I met Cindy at Carthage College in the early ‘70’s. She was a year ahead of me. Little did I know that she’d be my neighbor next to me for 28 years of teaching at Irving! Cindy’s smile would light up a room and her laugh was infectious! The children loved her and her dedication to teaching was known & admired by many. Cindy loved her family and when Cooper, her first grandbaby, was recently born, her eyes and face lit up with such pride and love!! She’ll be deeply missed but her legacy of love for others will live on forever! As she’s welcomed into the realm of Saints we can hear Him say “great job, good & faithful servant”. Love you Cindy! ❤️
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
