Died unexpectedly while enjoying an evening run, Thursday, November 1, 2012. Age 55. Husband of Cheryl L. Runge (nee Murata). Father of Peter and Paul Runge. Son of the late Dr. Paul Runge and Anne Baxter. Brother of Miriam, and the late John Runge, Amy Gaffney and Carolyn (Danny) Gammerman. Loved by other relatives and friends.Charlie was a graduate of Talawanda High School in Oxford, OH, Beloit College and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Phi Beta Kappa. He dedicated his working life to healthcare administration at numerous hospitals before joining Froedtert Hospital in 1995 during the County Hospital buyout. Most recently, he was Froedtert Health's Sr. Vice President for Planning and Service Line Management. He felt honored to contribute to improving the quality of healthcare in the Milwaukee area.A celebration of Charlie's life will take place at St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1615 North Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI on Friday, November 9, at 11:00 AM. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
