Passed away peacefully, April 23, 2019 at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Bette Zarnke. Loving father of Thomas (Rachel) Daniels, Jeffery Zarnke, and Scott Zarnke. Beloved brother of Barbara (David) Geier, Linda (Alan) Thomas, Paul (Gail) Zarnke, and Liz (Sara) Zarnke. Charles is also survived by many relatives and friends.
Chuck was born and raised in Wausau, Wisconsin. He graduated from Neumann High School and began his career with IBM in 1968, where he retired 30 years later. He served six years in the Army Reserve.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cruising. He was an outstanding carpenter; he built a grandfather clock from a cherry tree that was cut down years ago. There was nothing he could not fix or repair.
His pride and joy was his 1967 GTO convertible. He worked on it continuously trying to fix the overheating problem. His other toy was his Kubota tractor, used for many things, one for plowing snow and the other to pull out the lawnmowers stuck in the muddy field.
Chuck was a member of the New Berlin Lions Club for many years. He was president twice and the treasurer for 15 years.
Many thanks to all of the Froedtert Hospital doctors and staff and the Fresniue Kidney staff that took care of Chuck.
Chuck will be deeply missed.
