(Nee Van Dinter) Passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the age of 76. Loving wife of 52 years to Ted M. Torcivia. Generous, loving mother to Gina (Dr. Jeff Dauk) Taylor and Jill (Scott) Fitzgerald. Proud, loving grandmother to Maria and Joseph Fitzgerald. Devoted daughter of the late Alice and Andy Van Dinter and preceded in death by her infant sister Donna Mae. Carla was a talented artist, professional flower arranger and painter. She was skilled in ceramics, flower arranging, quilting, rosemaling, pastels, oils, charcoal and other artistic mediums. One of her paintings was featured on The CBS News Sunday Morning in 1998. She was also an accomplished musician, playing clarinet in the South Milwaukee High School marching band and later in the South Milwaukee Civic Orchestra. She loved to take care of her family, loved to laugh, loved to shop and buy presents, loved to read about health and nutrition. A farmer's daughter at heart, she loved to work outside, gardening and tending to her flowers and tomatoes. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 13th, from 4:00-5:45 PM. Service at 6:00 PM. Private interment on Saturday at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
