At its peak, OIC-GM was the largest African American employer and minority-controlled nonprofit organization in the State of Wisconsin. Through his work with OIC-GM, Carl helped ensure quality education and training services that enabled thousands of economically disadvantaged and unemployed people of all races and backgrounds to become productive members of society.
In his free time, Carl was an avid sports fan who supported the Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers. Carl lived by and often quoted the words of Nelson Mandela: “Sport has the power to change the world…it has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does”.
