Barbara Janet Tarczynski

Aged 81, Barbara Janet Tarczynski (nee Riekkoff) passed away in her sleep on November 23, 2020. Barbara was born on January 4, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Joyce and Roy Riekkoff. Although an only child, she was very close to her aunts, uncles, and cousins and considered them her immediate family. Barbara married Richard (deceased 2018) and celebrated over 50 anniversaries. They had four children, and Barbara stayed home to care for them. Barbara’s family was most important to her. She loved and accepted all friends, their children’s friends, and, of course, their spouses. She loved having a house full of people; her family visiting, having dinner, talking, and playing games. Barbara had a distinctive laugh followed by crying and wheezing, which happened nearly every time a game was played with the family – Pictionary (France!), Pit, Who What Where – a good time was had by all. She will be missed.

She is survived by her four children, Debra (Tracey) Tarczysnki, Lori (Todd) Rendon, Holly (Andrew) Vila, and Michael (Rachel) Tarczynski, and grandchildren Alissa Rendon, Justin Vila, Ryan Vila, and Violet Tarczynski.

Memorial Gathering at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 W. National Ave., New Berlin, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 5:00PM to 6:45PM. Memorial Service at 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Wisconsin Humane Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
