Arthur W. Shannon, 88, of Brookfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on May 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace C. Shannon and Eileen O' Brien Shannon, and is survived by his beloved wife of sixty four years, Helen "Jo" Hildebrandt Shannon.
A graduate of Wauwatosa High School, he enlisted in the Army in World War II and returned to earn a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin. Art retired as President of The Arthur Shannon Company after a lengthy career in the flooring industry. He had a keen interest in fishing, woodworking, and hunting and was an avid golfing member and board member of Westmoor Country Club. He adored his children, grandchildren and their children.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Engeleiter of St. Paul, MN; sons Tom (Sue) Shannon of Saukville, WI, Mike (Mary Sue) Shannon of Vail, CO and Dan (Lynn) Shannon of Hartland, WI. He is beloved by his eleven grandchildren Andy (Tara), Jenny (Seth), Tim (Susana), Peter, Ross (Sahithi), Kelly, Brian, Kerry (Robbie), Sarah (Eric), Becky and Katie and his great grandchildren Avery and Mary Adair. He is also survived by his brother Wallace Clark Shannon of Key West, Florida and his sister Patricia Huff Shannon of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A memorial visitation will be held at 12:30 PM -2:00 PM on Friday,
May 22, 2015 at the Krause Funeral Home at 21600 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield with a brief service at the conclusion. A private burial will follow.
