Passed away peacefully on Friday June 11, 2010 at the age of 78. Preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Alma, his brother Roman, and his nephews Jimmy and Bill. He was the beloved husband for 41 years of Georgia (nee Kneppreth), dear father of Laura and Jeffrey (Elke), proud grandpa of Ella and Jacob Kletti, and loving brother of Loretta Houting. Art is also remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their children. Art was an avid sailor, downhill skier, golfer, world traveler, poker player, and general handyman. His travels included such places as Africa, Australia, Europe (many times), the Middle East, plus Elderhostels all over the United States. He was Past Commodore of the Cedar Lake Yacht Club, and a member of the Suburban Retired Men's Club, First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, and National Ski Patrol. Art worked for Bruner Corporation for 36 years, ending his career in International Sales. This company specialized in water conditioning equipment for household and industrial use. Art sailed scows for over 60 years, winning many championships. The Kletti property on Big Cedar Lake was part of the Kletti farm and has been in the family for over 100 years. His father built the cottages, with Art as his able assistant. Since his brother and sister were 16 and 14 years older, Art was their prime babysitter and favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a patient and enthusiastic teacher, getting not only his nieces and nephews but his children involved in his two loves, skiing and sailing. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Froedtert Lutheran Hospital for their loving care during his battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Friday June 25th at the First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa (1511 Church Street) with a service at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, Cedar Lake Yacht Club, or the American Cancer Society.
