Annie was the daughter of Richard and Pearlie Stott, Sister of Willie (Ethel) Stott, Jim (Nell) Stott, Cleavon (Maxine) Stott, Ella (Robert) Thomas, Mary (Warner) McCants-Nicholson, Richard (Mary) Stott, John Albert Stott, Earnestine Stott, and Charles (Edna) Stott. Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to generations of children produced from this union. Annie was also loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Annie grew up in rural Alabama, her parents were farmers, and we all have fond memories of family trips to visit her childhood home and the land where she and her family worked for decades. In her early years she relocated to Milwaukee where, through her sister and our father’s niece Mary (a.k.a. May Pearl), she met the man that became her husband, Luther McCants Sr. Our parents were both farm kids that provided us with a great work ethic and the fortitude to continue to preserve in good or tough times. They also both shared a deep love of family. #familyovereverythng
Annie loved to sew and make clothes, but her true passion was writing. Annie had several long and short stories she had written over the years, and a few songs too that she made up for her kids and grandchildren. She also wrote a great deal of poetry in her later years. One of her poems was featured in a family documentary that one of her grandchildren (Larry) put together called “Just A Dream.” It was a beautiful and heartfelt tribute she gave to her family at our Arizona Family Reunion.
Annie touched the lives of many and there were countless families, extended family, and friends that called her Mom. Our entire family wants to extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have reached out in all forms with condolences and messages of love and support during this time. Do not mourn her death, please join us in the Celebration of her life. Share your stories and pictures with the family using the hashtag #familyovereverything
With Love & Gratitude, we love and thank you all.
