Anne Marie Zellner (nee Googasian), (aka Fancher), age 55, passed away peacefully at her home in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, surrounded by loved ones and her husband Scott on Saturday, June 27, 2020. Devoted wife of Scott Zellner for over 6 years, Anne was also the wonderful cat-mom of Kazmir and Sascha, and kind sister of Mark and Lynne.
Anne was born June 15, 1965, to Armen and Carolyn Googasian and grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Anne is a 1983 graduate of Rochester Adams High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at The University of Michigan in 1987, interned at Ford Motor Company, and then completed her MBA at the U of M Ross School of Business in 1990. She was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Society. Most recently, Anne was the Global Product Marketing Manager in Monitoring Solutions at GE Healthcare. Other notable engineering-based positions in her career include Case Corporation/CNH and Motorola. Anne earned the title of Certified Product Marketing Manager from the Association of International Product Marketing and Management (AIPMM), as well as a Bronze Best New Product Award at PittConn in 2000. Anne’s practical and analytical mind gave her a wonderful knack for solving problems.
After meeting the love of her life, Scott Zellner, President of King Motorsports, the couple enjoyed a shared love of fast and fine automobiles. They married on September 14, 2014, at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, Michigan. Anne enjoyed northern Michigan, especially the Traverse City area, home to many things she loved such as The Cherry Festival, film festivals, and outdoor hiking and biking with friends and family. After moving to Wisconsin with Scott, the couple attended Unity Lutheran Church in Brookfield, WI. Gardening is a particular passion for Anne as she was also a member of the Mayfair Park Garden Club in Wauwatosa. Anne lived in Naperville, Illinois, for several years, forming lifelong friendships as a member of swim clubs, running groups, and Grace United Methodist Church. Always looking at the positive side of life, Anne truly lived life to the fullest. She was an avid swimmer who also enjoyed cycling, running, and hiking. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed the visual and performing arts and had a wonderful eye for beautifully decorating and landscaping her home. Anne had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends. Her travels included sojourns to 5 continents including Asia, Europe, South America, and Australia. Anne’s loving, kind, and gentle nature inspired numerous deep and lasting friendships.
As a member of the Wisconsin-based awareness group, Are You Dense, Inc., Anne was instrumental in advocating for Wisconsin legislation to inform women of dense breast tissue after mammograms, so they can follow-up with other possible forms of screening and diagnosis. She was present at the signing of the Wisconsin Breast Density Initiative bill by Governor Scott Walker on April 2, 2018. It is Anne’s hope that women continue to educate themselves on this important health issue. https://www.itnonline.com/content/wisconsin-gov-walker-signs-breast-density-reporting-bill
