Alice L. Kruger

Alice Laura Kruger departed this life on April 24th, 2024, at the age of ninety. Very strong-minded, opinionated, and independent single mom to Michael Wray (Joy) Kruger, Jean Marie Weiss (nee Kruger), and Duane Edward (Beate) Kruger. Granny to Heidi Lynn, Ryan James (Stephanie), Omi to Anja Yasmin (Nathaniel) Lindsley, and Kevin Duane (Christy) Kruger. Great grandmother to ten great grandchildren. Preceded in death by granddaughter Jennifer Marie Kruger (cherished daughter of Mike and Joy).

Alice obtained her degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1954. She married Duane Kruger in 1956. Along with working full-time and oftentimes more, she raised her three children and enjoyed activities of her own interests including: hunting, fishing, bowling, and later in life, she enjoyed world traveling, the fine arts, and historical interests.

Along with her children, she participated in scouting activities, sporting events, camping, and social culture activities including Heritage Flags, and the Milwaukee Spielmannszug.

In the Milwaukee Spielmannszug for over 50 years, she enjoyed contributing to the successful fundraising events of the Original Potato Pancake Booth and the Cultural Booths at Germanfest. She also engaged in the Bockbierfest.
Alice gave her best to the continual education of cultural and historical information to the betterment of future generations in a way that exemplified her own life experiences and knowledge.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 11:45 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Service at 12:00 PM.  Interment to follow at Forest Home Cemetery.
