Alexandra “Alex” or “Poppy” Ann Grasee passed away peacefully in the arms of her mother and father, while reading one last bedtime story, on June 23, 2023 at Children’s Wisconsin Hospital in Milwaukee from complications due to infection and prematurity.
Alex was born on June 5, 2023, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Riley and Emily (Niquette) Grasee. Though she was called to the Lord too soon, she had almost three full weeks on this Earth filled with so much love and comfort. She, along with her parents, made memories that will last a lifetime.
Alex is survived by her parents, Riley and Emily (Niquette) Grasee of Green Bay; maternal grandparents, Scott and Julie (Jezeski) Niquette of Kaukauna; maternal great grandmother, Dianne (Naidl) Niquette of Kaukauna; maternal aunt and uncles, Jon and Melanie (Niquette) Hamblin of St. Paul, Minnesota and Matthew Niquette and special friend Sami Rossow of Milwaukee; paternal grandparents, Tracy (Bedor) Grasee and Randy Kubichek of Green Bay; paternal grandparents, James and Mary (Handrich) Grasee of De Pere; paternal uncles, Tyler Grasee and Jake Green of Cleveland, Ohio; paternal great grandparents, David and Sandi (Wolfgram) Bedor of New London; paternal great grandmother, Diana (Rohloff) Grasee of De Pere; and numerous great uncles, great aunts, second cousins, and family friends.
Alex’s parents would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, as well as all of the doctors and nurses who cared for Alex at the Children’s Wisconsin Hospital in Milwaukee. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Alex will forever be remembered for her sweet soul, beautiful blue eyes, and her feisty and playful personality. She will always be our “Poppy” and will forever be a part of us. Like a poppy flower, Alex was beautiful, unique, and so strong. Our memories with her, like the flower, will always symbolize peace, remembrance, and hope. May she forever be at peace and continue to bloom with grace until we can meet again.
