Passed away peacefully January 23, 2014, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Laabs) Hamala and devoted father to son James Hamala (Janice). Proud grandfather to Taylor Hamala. Alex is survived by his dedicated brother Anthony Hamala (Delores), in-laws Arthur and Leona Jahncke, nieces and nephews and long time friends.
Alex was a WWII veteran in the Army Engineering Corp and helped build the bridge over the Rhine River into Germany. Long time member of Tanner Paull American Legion Post 120 and Covenant Lutheran Church. Alex retired from Square D in 1986 after 40 years of service. In retirement, Alex loved to square dance, golf, bowl, play cards and visit his family in Georgia.
Visitation at the Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Friday, January 31, 2014, from 4:00-6:45 PM. Funeral Service at 7:00 PM. Entombment Saturday, February 1, 2014, 10:00 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
The family is grateful to Luther Manor's Doctor's and staff for their compassionate care of Alex. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Milwaukee Luther Manor Foundation.
