Robert Winkle, 92, died from kidney failure on June 4, 2017 at Capitol Lakes retirement community in Madison, Wisconsin. Born on 12/18/1924 in Evanston, IL to the late Elijah (Edward) and Julie (nee Mencl). A 1943 graduate of E.T.H.S., he served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 and graduated from Northwestern University in 1950. Employed as an accountant by Roundy’s Inc (Wauwatosa & Pewaukee, WI) in 1956 and retired in 1987. Survived by his daughter Candace (David Flanigan) and son James R (Bonnie Schmidt) and their daughter Kailee Anne Winkle of Madison, WI, a brother Leonard (Bonnie) of Surprise, AZ. Was preceded in death by his wife Leila (nee Von Seggern), daughter Wendy, and his sisters Grace Winkle, Lorraine Hallock, Eleanor Maxwell and Marjorie (Carroll) Elkjer.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. Service at 1:30 PM. Burial Wisconsin Memorial.
