Jenna Leigh Wiess, 36, moved from this life on January 2, 2021, in the presence of her soulmate, Aleks Vuckovic, parents David Wiess and Jill (Whitford) Wiess, and sister Allison Wiess (Ryan Ballogh). Jenna fought a short but courageous battle with brain cancer.

A private celebration of Jenna’s life will be held in the spring – along Lake Michigan, a favorite place Jenna visited often with her beloved dog, Sadie.

Jenna made friends easily. People were drawn by her ability to listen, be compassionate and non-judgmental, often providing advice of hope and self-healing. Jenna found solace in expressing herself through writing and art.

Jenna had a fun-loving nature, a desire to experience all of life, and was loved for being a trusting and selfless friend. She will be missed by her immediate family and large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

You were an angel on earth Jenna. I feel so blessed to have played ball with you, been your locker neighbor, and then later in life stumble back into each others lives. Every interaction I ever had with you, whether we were 12 or 32, felt meaningful and purposeful bc you made it feel that way. I'm sad for everyone who must now get used to not having those interactions and for all those who never had a chance to... you were such a light in the lives of everyone who knew you. Your light will remain in our hearts sweet Jenna <3

I had the pleasure of knowing Jenna in high school as we played softball together. My heart breaks to hear of her passing. She was a kind, down to earth woman with such a beautiful smile. My heart felt condolences to her family and friends.

Oh, my sweet, Jenna! You were kind, beautiful, and an amazing friend. Even though our paths lead us in different directions, you were one of my greatest friends. I will cherish all our moments together from school days, sports, and all our beer-drinking shenanigans (we had a blast!). You were loved by all and will be missed, girl. Rest in peace, my sweet, sweet friend. Thinking and praying for you all.

Oh Jenna, I am so sorry to hear of this!. We had a lot of fun being mischievous and messing with the boys, garage parties, sports and thinking we were cool kids! It's crazy how life changes and the unexpected happens! Keep smiling girl, you will be missed by many. Many prayers to your family and friends that they may find peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family for comfort. I remember her as a quiet and kind student. How hard that must be with a life cut so short. She is, and will be, truly missed.

I remember playing sports with Jenna in high school and she always had a smile on her face. My thoughts and prayers to all of her family and may these memories bring comfort.

Jenna was an amazing young woman that I was honored to coach. I am saddened at the news of her passing and pray for comfort for the family in their time of loss. A butterfly lands beside us and for a brief moment its beauty belongs to the world. Then it flies again and though we wish it could have stayed, we feel lucky to have seen it. Rest Easy Jenna, I'll never forget your smile, fun personality and your contagious laugh.
