Milwaukee Summer Activities for the Whole Family

Summer is a great season to explore with your family. At Krause Funeral Home, we love spending time with loved ones appreciating all our beautiful city has to offer at this time of year. This summer, there are a lot of fun activities to do with your family here in Milwaukee. We can’t wait to see our neighbors in Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Brookfield out and about enjoying summertime with their families.

For inspiration, here’s a list of some of our staff’s favorite family-friendly summer activities.

Cheer on the Milwaukee Brewers at their home stadium.

Catching a Brewers game at American Family Field is one of the best ways to spend a summer day in Milwaukee. This year, our hometown team has an exciting schedule you won’t want to miss. Ticket prices start as low as $14, and kids under 14 years of age can join the Brewers Kids Club to score free tickets and gear. Click here to see the game schedule and order tickets.

Check out the Milwaukee County Zoo.

A fun way to fill a summer day is taking a trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo. Visitors can get up close to a variety of animals, from reptiles to ocean dwellers. With more than 2,200 animals on site, the hardest part will be knowing where to go first! For help planning your visit, click here.

Visit the Planetarium.

When temperatures rise outside, head into the Daniel M. Soref National Geographic Dome Theater & Planetarium, the largest and most modern planetarium in the entire state. Kids will love taking in the 3D animations displayed in the Dome Theater. The whole family will enjoy looking up at the night sky and identifying key constellations and stars. Learn more about the planetarium’s ongoing and temporary programs along with ticket information here.

Dive into local history at Old World Wisconsin.

This summer, step back in time at Old World Wisconsin, a unique group of historic structures in America’s heartland. Kids of all ages will enjoy learning about daily life as far back as the 1840s. From a blacksmith shop to a high-wheel bicycle, there are so many interesting things to explore. For ticket information, click here.

We hope you and your family have a wonderful time experiencing all Milwaukee has to offer in the summertime. Remember that our staff is here 24/7 should you or a family member need assistance.
