Dr. Mohammed Saeed Dhamee

Dr. Mohammed Saeed Dhamee, known as Saeed, passed away at 90 on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center – Summit, near his home in Delafield, Wisconsin.

Saeed was born in 1936 in Shimla, India. His early life took him through Delhi and, during the upheaval of Partition, to Karachi. He studied medicine at Dow Medical College in Karachi and then went to the United Kingdom for postgraduate medical training. In the late 1960s, he met Dr. Margaret Angela Egan. Saeed moved to Wisconsin in the early 1970s; Angela joined him, and they were married on November 3, 1973, in Milwaukee.

Saeed practiced anesthesiology at the Milwaukee County Medical Complex and later at Froedtert Hospital. At the Medical College of Wisconsin, he became a professor of anesthesiology and served as vice chairman for clinical affairs. His published work addressed cardiac anesthesia, patient monitoring, and the safety of anesthesia care. Teaching was also central to his career, and he helped train generations of physicians.

Family and friends were deeply important to Saeed. He took great pleasure in bringing everyone together over meals and long evenings that stretched into snowy nights. In early retirement, gatherings in Florida meant relaxed evenings on the lanai with friends new and old.

He was also an avid photographer, traveler, golfer, and cook. He loved sharing his tastes with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Margaret Angela Egan; his sons, Yousuf Dhamee (Laura Kim) and Saleem Dhamee (Olivia Dhamee); his granddaughter, Fiona; his brother, Mohammed Humayoun (Shaheen); his sister, Asma (Shahid Iqbal), and her sons, Umar and Usman; and Sharif Bhatti, husband of his late sister Shamim, and their daughter, Sadia.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Talat and Mohammed Ibrahim Dhamee, and his sister, Shamim.
