Robert “Bob” Arnold Jacobson (1942-2026)
Bob Jacobson passed peacefully into eternal life on April 6, 2026, at home surrounded by family, at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol Jean for 52 years and was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Jacobson and Hariett (nee Waldo) Jacobson. Bob is survived by his siblings Dale (Diane), Linda, and Judy; his children Karl (Stella), Kristin (Bill), and Kent (Chad); his grandchildren Jake, Darren, Eli, and Evan; his brother-in-law Edward (Helen) Chester, many nieces and nephews and longtime family friend Tanis.
Born July 17, 1942, in Stephenson, Michigan, Bob proudly called himself a “Yooper.” He married his “city girl” in 1967 and, after just under a decade of living in Michigan and Illinois, he moved his young family to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he lived the remainder of his years. Bob worked in vending services and at Miller Brewing Company before establishing Jacobson & Associates. After traveling throughout the United States and internationally he retired from the metal die casting industry.
Bob was a devoted father and grandfather, known for his patience, encouragement, and positive spirit. His love of sports earned many an “atta boy,” though he never forgot an “atta girl” when it was deserved.
In his early 40s, Bob fulfilled a dream by opening Grimby’s, a small downtown Waukesha bar where he enjoyed connecting with the community. He generously gave his time to youth, coaching YMCA basketball and later mentoring at-risk high school students, believing he learned as much from them as they did from him.
Golf became Bob’s greatest passion in retirement. Active in leagues and charity events, including fundraisers for Special Olympics. He treasured the friendships of his close-knit golf group. The “guys” were his inseparable golf clan, and they were a second to none, one of a kind bunch who stuck together and “had your back”. Known to them as “Jake,” he loved sharing stories of their adventures with a smile and a chuckle.
Bob will be remembered for his humility, integrity, and genuine kindness.
See you on the golf course — tee time 6 a.m. sharp.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.
