Maureen Ann Doyle
Born to eternal life on July 31, 2025, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, at the age of 84, after a long battle with a lung illness. Maureen was the beloved daughter of the late Leo and Agnes (Muraski) Doyle, and sister of the late Jim Doyle. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Brian James Doyle.
She is survived by her brother Michael (Sandie) Doyle, nephew Tim (Terri) Doyle and children Braden, Jaiden, and Jazzi, niece Lisa (Michele) D’Urso, and their children Brooke, Michele Jr., Heather, Thomas, and Tiffany, her sister-in-law Ginni Doyle, nephew Jason (Emily) Doyle and their son Leo. Maureen will be deeply missed by many dear friends in the Milwaukee area, who became her Wisconsin family, including her cousin Dr. John Schwab, his wife Kari, and their son Noah of Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Maureen’s journey began in Chicago, IL, where she entered high school as an Aspirant, beginning her preparation to become a Felician Sister. She served for 16 years in the order as a teacher before discerning a new path, social work, where she found her true calling. Maureen went on to become a licensed social worker, dedicating over 25 years to helping disadvantaged and marginalized youth. Her compassion, strength, and unwavering support helped countless people move forward with renewed hope and purpose.
Even after retirement, Maureen remained a fierce advocate for social justice. She served as a co-block captain with her “partner in crime,” Oretha, and proudly graduated from the Milwaukee Citizens Police Academy, working alongside the police to help keep her neighborhood safe.
Maureen will be remembered for her deep love of people, animals (especially her beloved cat, Nicky), her gift in the kitchen, her green thumb, her humor, and her unwavering appreciation for nature. She was affectionately known as the “Hostess with the Mostest,” bringing joy to many through her adventurous cooking and warm hospitality.
Her family in St. Paul, Minnesota, is especially grateful to her Wisconsin circle: Mike Kaiser, Oretha Harris, Michelle Piatek, Dr. John Schwab, and Kari Schwab, for the love, care, and support they gave her, especially in her final days. Maureen expressed heartfelt gratitude for every phone call and visit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Krause Funeral Home & Cremation, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Visitation begins at 12:30 PM, with a service to follow at 2:00 PM.
