Sadowski, Esther R. (née Nettesheim) – Born into Eternal Life on July 29, 2025, at age 99.
Esther was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. She was known for her kindness, loving and joyful nature, a steadfast heart, and for being a very faithful servant to God. She was a wonderful wife, married 68 years to her late beloved Stanley. Esther loved her family and modeled her devoted faith, kindness and forgiveness to them. She had a smile that would draw you in and a sense of humor that would warm your heart and make you smile. Esther loved God dearly and she truly valued her faith with great devotion.
Esther was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin on a dairy farm on March 30, 1926, during a snowstorm. She attended St. John’s School for the Deaf in Milwaukee, WI and then went onto Delevan High School for the Deaf in Delevan, Wisconsin where she graduated from in 1947. Esther married the love of her life, Stanley, in 1952 and moved to Buffalo, NY where they had three daughters. In 1967, their family moved to Milwaukee where they continued to raise their daughters and Esther worked for St. Anne’s Little Sisters of the Poor until she retired.
Esther was a member of the Ephphatha Chapter of the International Catholic Deaf Association and the deaf community at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Milwaukee for years where she and Stan made many close friends. Esther’s many great interests included gardening, sewing, cooking, baking cookies and pies, and always keeping a clean house. Esther had a welcoming spirit and made those around her feel special, comfortable, and at ease.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecilia Nettesheim, and cherished siblings, Mary, Kenneth, Bernadette, John W, and David, brothers-in-law, John, Donald, and Leonard Sokol, and sisters-in-law, Mary, Elaine, and Esther Sokol. She was also preceded in death by many dear friends.
