It is with love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia “Ginny” Anne (Uebelher) Jenkins, 74, of Glendale, Wisconsin. Ginny passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on Sunday, July 13, 2025, with her loving husband of 55 years, Tom Jenkins, by her side.
Born on August 15, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Anthony (deceased) and Beatrice Uebelher, Ginny was raised with her older brother Francis Uebelher (deceased) and younger siblings Marge (Uebelher) Tuske and Larry Uebelher.
A graduate of Dominican High School (Whitefish Bay) and Milwaukee Area Technical College, she was a talented seamstress with a passion for theater, music and books. While raising her four children — Anne (Jenkins) Harvey, Ted Jenkins, Ben (Jenkins) Sobczak and Cathy (Jenkins) Holman — she held a variety of roles ranging from costuming to acting to singing in countless community and commercial theater programs. She was the sole proprietor of The Ginn Mill, a small business focused on crafting handmade clothing, dolls and bespoke wares, and also co-founded and managed ESCOR, an automation and energy conservation system manufacturer, with Tom.
Throughout her life she was interested in many causes, most recently Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries and local meal programs, and Monarch Watch, an education, conservation and research program to support the monarch butterfly and its habitat.
She is survived by her mother, Beatrice; siblings, Marge Tuske and Larry Uebelher; their spouses Wayne Tuske and Ellen Uebelher, respectively; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to Tom, her surviving immediate family includes Cathy and Dan Holman of Wyoming and their children John Daniel “J.D.,” Gillian, Wes, Carter and Hattie; Ben and Darcy Sobczak of Wisconsin plus children Ethan and Moss; Ted Jenkins of California and his daughter, Mary Lou; and Anne and Darryl Harvey of Texas whose family includes Chelsea Harvey Raley, her husband, Jake Raley, and their daughter and two sons; and Cody Harvey, his wife, Jessica Harvey, and their three daughters and son.
A mass to honor Ginny’s life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Eugene Congregation, 7600 North Port Washington Road, Fox Point, WI 53217.
A simple and brief gathering for family and friends will follow in St. Eugene’s Mackin Hall.
