Watch TributeLillian F. Diener formerly of Sheboygan, WI entered into eternal life on Wednesday August 21, 2024, at the age of 92. She is the cherished mother of Deedee Mader (Bernie), Donna Kremel (Tim) and the proud ‘NaNa’ of grandson, Colton Anderson.
Lillian was also a beloved aunt to Diane (Michael) Anderson, Tanya (Jon) Trevison and Ravid Lurie (FKA Doug Debevetz). She additionally held a close friendship with her prior son-in-law, David Mader.
Lillian was born in 1931 to Anton & Frances Debevetz who proceeded her in death, as did her brother and sister-in-law, Anton “Tony” & wife Camille Debevetz.
After graduation from Central High School in Sheboygan, Lillian pursued Business School in Milwaukee to become trained as a professional secretary which she took great pride in. After Secondary School graduation, she began work for a local bank, eventually moving on to work within different government agencies as well as The Kohler Company in Kohler, WI.
Lillian’s career began in Wisconsin but eventually led her to live in other states such as Washington, DC and Hollywood, CA for a time. During her work in Washington, DC she was both an Accredited Government Worker as well as volunteering for the Armed Services Hospitality Committee. This meant that she assisted with various events and dances held for the enlisted servicemen.
It was during a return to Sheboygan for work that she met her former husband, Donald Diener. They married, having two daughters.
Lillian spent the last 16 years of her career as a dedicated customer service worker for the US Postal Service in Milwaukee, WI. Many a customer would call specifically seeking her out to solve a problem that they had needing her expertise.
After retirement Lillian’s greatest joy was in watching her grandson Colton and spending time with him. This included playing with Hot Wheels cars, games of “Hide & Seek” in her basement as well as many sessions of storytelling. She was a wonderful “NaNa.”
Lillian was an avid golfer beginning in her 20’s and for most of her life. After retiring, she joined a women’s golf league at Brookfield Hills Golf Club. This increased her time on the greens, which she loved. Lillian did move on to serve as President of her golf league and took this title very seriously. She had previously spent lots of time at the Lac La Belle golf course and clubhouse with friends.
Lillian’s interests and other passions included music, dancing, travel, talk radio and state of the world events. She was able to play the piano by ear which amazed her daughters. She could be caught singing around the house from when they were little to just last year.
She remained a lifelong learner and would be excited to sign-up for classes at WCTC in Waukesha to enrich her mind each session. She also loved watching the Green Bay Packers. You could find her each Sunday in front of the television rooting for her favorite team! Lillian was noted as being ‘feisty,’ ‘brave’ and ‘full of life’ by many. She held a wonderful spirit.
Mom and ‘Nana’ your spirit will live on in our hearts. You will be loved and remembered forever.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Krause Funeral Homes, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, followed by a service at 6:00 PM.
Lillian will be buried on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Greendale Cemetery, 1008 Greendale Road, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
