Kathleen E. (Mannisi) Miller
1950 – 2023
Kathleen E. (Mannisi) Miller was born on November 18, 1950 in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was the middle child of Santo and Fern (Yetto) Mannisi. Kathy, (as she was usually called or Nona to her granddaughters), was born with a kind heart and a loving personality. These qualities aided her teaching career and remained with her the rest of her life. She died on November 25, 2023.
Kathy began her education at SS Peter and Paul elementary school in Collinsville, Illinois. She attended and graduated from The Academy of Notre Dame in Belleville, Illinois, and then went on to the University of Illinois in Edwardsville graduating with a BS in Elementary Education in 1972. She began teaching at SS Peter and Paul School and remained there until 1983.
Kathy and Jim Miller met in graduate school and were married on May 8, 1982 at SS Peter and Paul Church. To this union were born Joshua James in 1984 and Mark Randall in 1988. In 1987, the family moved to the Milwaukee area where she remained until the end of her life. She taught there at SS Margaret Mary Elementary School for many years.
She was predeceased by her parents and parents-in-law, her brother Joseph and sister-in-law Dianna Mannisi. Surviving her passing are her husband, Jim, children Joshua (Sarah), and Mark, granddaughters Nora and Emily, sister Judy (Jeff) Engle, and nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends.
Her funeral will be at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Pewaukee at 2:00 PM.
Special and heartfelt thanks are extended to Prohealth Hospice care, nurses, and people who cared for her for many years. Also, a further tribute to daughter-in-law Sarah Miller who provided medical advice and help when needed.
Memorials can be given to St. Jude Children’s hospital and Queen of Apostles.
