I knew Wiltrud since I was born. The Hubbard family was our neighbors. They had all boys and our family was 4 girls out of 5 kids. So, we didn't hang out much with the boys but that did not stop our families from being close. Our moms (Wiltrud and Cecile) were very good life long friends. They both shared kind and caring hearts. My mom was God Mother to Thomas. They both helped each other through life's ups and downs. I will never forget Wiltrud showing up at my mom's 60th bday party as a "Harley chick". When she walked in everyone loved it. My memories of Wiltrud include her German accent, her soft voice, her sense of reasoning and her geniune care and love for people. My mom was blessed to have such a loving friend. May God Bless you Wiltrud.
Manfred Sigl left a message on August 15, 2023:
Dear Hubbard Family, when a person has gone, we are left with the pain of that even the most beautiful summer is followed by autumn, that even the happiest day has an evening and even the most enchanting melody eventually fades away. The only consolation we have is the certainty that this pain is fleeting like winter, the night and the silence. Just our memory, our longing and our love are immortal. It's hard on an occasion like this to find comforting words, but we would like to Express our heartfelt condolences to you and much strength and confidence to you Farewell to our beloved Wiltrud. With love Manfred Sigl (brother) and Markus Sigl (nephew) from Nuremberg, Germany

My siblings and me knew Wiltrud as our aunt since we can think. She visited Germany every few years and met our family, sometimes alone, sometimes with Chris, Steven or Thomas. On Christmas and on our fathers birthday she always sent greetings or we had a phone call. In 1984 me and two fellows went to a 6-week trip to the US and stayed 2 weeks at the Hubbard's house in Greendale, where I met my cousins Dennis and Mike for the first time. One day she took us to St. Anne's Home and showed us her work as a Music Therapist. We were deeply impressed how much pleasure she gave to the old people living there. I will always keep her in my heart. May she rest in peace and may god bless her. My thoughts and my condolences are with my American cousins.

Dear Wiltrud, I was your neighbor at Morning Side Hills. I eventually moved across the street to The Terraces of Morningside, I always enjoyed sending you a Christmas card until I lost track of you when you moved. Being a fellow church member at St Mary's I also enjoyed seeing you at Mass on occasion. I fondly recall one Sunday in particular when I was sitting right behind you. You turned and asked if I could take a sweater and put it around your shoulders. It was my pleasure Wiltrud! I also enjoyed watching you tend to your little garden at the apartments and diligently doing your water exercises in the pool. Rest in peace and may God Bless You and keep you. Your friend, Jerry

We know Wiltrud as an old schoolfriend of our mother Renate. Their friendship holds, even after Wiltrud made her way to the US. They shared memories and exchanged pictures for decades and we, Renates children, grew up with the knoledge of a deep and warm friendship and its value for everydays live. Sometimes the ladies even met on one of Wiltruds visits to Germany. And once, my husband and I visited her at home on one of our trips to the US! Me, my brother and my sister will never forget the christmas-greetings and birhtday-cards, which we received regularly, even after our mother long has passed away. We will never forget Wiltrud as the brave woman, who always looks forward and never gives up. Her courage and her strength always inspired us. May she rest in peace! Viktoria with Stephan and Beata
Birdie left a message on August 8, 2023:
I remember my first day on the floor. (It was a Friday)and we were doing nails. It was Wiltrud and two other ladies who I had first met. when she would talk to you she was one of those people that you would have thought to have known for your entire life, she was warm and welcoming. From that day on we formed a friendship that I will forever cherish. She helped me with new exercises, when I would run out of ideas, she would give me some activity ideas to do and who to bring down. I’ll miss her calling my name “Birdie!!”. Her favorite activity was current events, I’ll miss rushing her to her room for her 10AM phone call with her son, I’ll miss grabbing a banana with her after church was over. It’s the small things that you do not give a second thought to in the moment; now it holds a significant memory. Her red, grey and white shall that she would always share with others because that’s the person who she was, always willing to give a helping hand. She loved popcorn and icecream, when I had sundaes she skipped her afternoon nap just to get an icecream! That brought a smile to my face. She made everyone feel welcomed, she will forever hold a place in my heart.
