Darrell Robert Roblee, age 87, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 15, 1936, son of Raymond and Laura Roblee. Darrell attended West Milwaukee High School and completed his formal apprenticeship through the Electrical Union. Darrell worked in the as an IBEW Electrician for 40 years and was very proud to spend the last 27 years of his career, working for Lemberg Electric. Darrell retired at age 60 and was blessed with 27 years of retirement.
Darrell enlisted in the US Navy after High School and worked on diesel submarines, which he was extremely proud of. Everyone close to Darrell, has been fortunate to hear stories about his submarine days. He was a proud Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1962. He was united in holy matrimony with Judith A. Roblee on June 9, 1962 in Neenah, Wisconsin. This year they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Darrell and Judy built their first and forever home in New Berlin, Wisconsin, where they were blessed with 2 children, Kay and Jeff.
Darrell lived a full and active life. He was a long-standing, active member of the Masonic Lodge and belonged to the Tripoli Shrine, where he first rode his motorcycle and later his scooter in numerous parades. He was heavily involved in the Wisconsin Order of the Eastern Star (OES) for over 50 years, with his wife Judy, where he held numerus leadership positions including his most recent and last title of Past Worthy Patron of Electra Chapter. Darrell was very proud of his son Jeff, who followed in his footsteps as an IBEW Electrician and his daughter Kay, who currently works at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was extremely proud of his Grandson Devin, who graduated in 2022 from Notre Dame College and played 4 years of NCAA baseball. Devin will be graduating with his MBA this year. Darrell loved to watch Devin play baseball, while sitting in his lawn chair, eating a good hot dog. He was also known by friends, relatives and family as someone who could fix anything. He was always right there to offer advice and lend a hand. Darrell enjoyed his family, home and yard the most.
Darrell Robert Roblee departed this life peacefully in Hospice, early Wednesday morning on July 26, 2023. He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Laura Roblee. He will be laid to rest next to his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Judith A. Roblee, daughter Kay L. Roblee (Mark Fish), son Jeffrey R. Roblee and grandson, Devin Fish.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Funeral Service in the Chapel at 2:00 PM.
Darrell will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 14875 West Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
