Rodney Janka, age 71, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 after a short battle with ALS.

Rod is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara and his son Robert (Stephanie). Proud Grandpa J. to Vivian, Eden, and Olive Janka. Brother to Gary (Jackie) Janka and Dr. Rick (Valerie) Janka. Brother-in-law to Ward (Nancy) Carr and James (Mary) Wagner. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Janka and parents Mildred and Harry Janka.

Rod proudly spent 32 years combined in the Army and Air Force Reserves. He was a kind man who loved animals, but most of all, adored his family. His dogs Emma and Max will miss him greatly.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, at 9:00 AM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin, with service to follow at 10:00 AM and burial at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W Greenfield Ave, New Berlin, Wisconsin.

I served with Rod in the 440th CES in Milwaukee. I remember him as always being soft spoken for a big guy, kind and considerate. He was always willing to help if needed. He was such a nice guy. All my sympathies to his family.
