Lois Lembcke

Lois Vergene Lembcke (Nee Folkedahl) of Saukville, Wisconsin, and more recently Milwaukee, Wisconsin found peace on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the age of 80.  

Lois is survived by her daughter Denise Tuttle-O’Donnell (Kevin) and grandson Dane O’Donnell in Milwaukee, WI along with sisters Sharon Folkedahl- Glendale, Arizona, Colleen (Lloyd) Gossman and Lynne Folkedahl – Decorah, Iowa, and brother Vince (Bev) Folkedhal- Iowa City, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. 

Lois was a middle child in a family of nine kids and grew up in Decorah, Iowa.  She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and took part in Decorah’s Nordic Fest in her youth and made many trips back home for the annual event. Lois worked for 35 years at Port Apothecary/ ShopKo Pharmacy in Port Washington, Wisconsin until her retirement in December 2012. She belonged to and was involved in activities and the choir at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington, WI. She loved singing, watching movies, reading mystery novels, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.  

The family would like to thank the staff at Alexian Village for their care and support. We also thank the ER & ICU team at Froedtert-Menomonee Falls and Horizon Hospice team that compassionately cared for Lois in her final days.   

A Celebration of Life for Lois will be during the Sunday service at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 420 Whitefish Road, Port Washington, Wisconsin on July 16th at 8:30 AM.  A private celebration of life will take place at a future date in Iowa.
