Linda Kirksey was born on August 6, 1960, to the late Alma Crayton Smith and LeFonzia McCrory Sr. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Linda received her formal education from Hamilton High School. She furthered her education at Bryant & Stratton College. Linda accepted Christ as her savior at seven years old and was a member of Faith Creation Church.
On April 2, 1991, Linda Carter united in holy matrimony with Dale Kirksey in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their union was blessed with three children.
Linda worked as a healthcare professional in various roles for 35 years. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, laughing at her husband’s jokes, dining on the river, watching good movies, listening to music, fishing, watching the Bucks and the Packers, and bike riding.
Linda took delight in worshiping God and spending time in his word. As a wife and mother, she instilled that love of God in her family.
Additionally, she taught her children to work hard, be humble, independent, and not to make excuses. These values manifested themselves in her beloved children and grandchildren who are her dearest legacy.
She was a very private person who enjoyed peace and quiet. Linda was highly organized and maintained a tidy and well-kept household. She also enjoyed reminiscing on fond memories of the past with her family. As a master baker, Linda was known for her legendary desserts such as sweet potato pie, German chocolate cake, pound cake, and cookies. Linda found peace in baking and loved sharing with her family, friends, and even the homeless.
Linda Kirksey departed this life on April 3, 2023. She was preceded in death by her sister, Renee McCrory.
She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Dale Kirksey, loving daughter, Tia Maria Kirksey, and beloved sons, Artesian Kirksey (LaTasha) and Stephen Kirksey (Tiffany). She also leaves behind grandchildren, Dejeanea Kirksey, Destiny Kirksey, Mekiah Gaskins, Makyah Young, Kennedy Kirksey, A’miracle Dixon, Alphonso Lowe, Hezekiah Teague, Azryel Kirksey, Stephen Kirksey, and Braylon Kirksey. Her loving family also includes great-grandchildren, Serenity Nelson, Kalani Lowe, and De’Johrn Kirksey along with siblings, Sondra James, Cynthia Boyd, Remonica McCrory, Eric Crayton, Kelvin Crayton, Lefonzia McCrory Jr., and Jerome Antonio McCrory.
Family hour from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Visitation to be held on Saturday, April 15, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin. Interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park to follow.
