Karen Elizabeth Uebersohn (nee Keough), age 61, of Stone Bank, Wisconsin, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Karen was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Hamilton High School in the spring of 1978. She would go on to study for a career in nursing, and she served the greater Milwaukee community in this capacity and others for many years. Karen was a lover of adventure and the outdoors, and many of her family and friends had the opportunity to be present with her to witness the stunning natural beauty of our nation from coast to coast. Nevertheless, she was equally likely to be found buried in a book in the quiet, cozy shade of her back yard. Those close to her can testify to her spark, her room-filling laughter, her devotion and love for her family’s two black labs, Casey and Ellie, and her sage wisdom to never take anything quite too seriously.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Gladys Keough, her lifelong friend Shirley Schiebel, and others close and dear to her. She is survived by her loving husband Erich and their three children: Rachel of Wauwatosa and fiancé Christopher; Alec of Oakland, California; and Anthony of Waterford, who along with wife Stacy have blessed the family with grandchildren Harrison and Jacen. She is additionally survived by her brothers Thomas of Pewaukee, James of Burlington, Kevin of Sheboygan, their families, and many more loved ones.
A visitation will be held at Divine Redeemer Lutheran Church, 31385 Hill Road, Hartland, Wisconsin 53029 at 4:30 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021 with a service to follow at 6:00 PM.
The family would like to thank the church for their hospitality and support during this difficult time, as well as the many friends of the Keough and Uebersohn families that have provided us with sympathy and warmth. Karen will be laid to rest in Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin during a private family ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory should be made to the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha.
