Carol A. Perkins (September 11, 1931 – September 30, 2021)

 

Carol A. Perkins (Kronka) of West Allis, age 90, passed away suddenly on September 30th, 2021 and is now resting peacefully with God and his angels in heaven. Our mother was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Perkins. Loving mother of Alison (Ken) Kortis and Michael (Holly) Perkins. Cherished grandmother of Connor, Savannah and Hannah. Dear sister of Dawn Suharski and the late Marce Rettke. Further survived by many dear family and friends.

Our mother loved attending church and sang in the church choir for more than 50 years. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, going out to eat and spending time with her loving family and friends. Our mother greatly enjoyed getting together with her close group of exercise friends, a friendship that’s lasted 25 years. She treasured the time spent with her sister Dawn and the laughter they shared reminiscing about the past. Our mother led a happy Christian life and everyone who met her adored her; she was beautiful inside and out. Most of all, our mother loved spending time with her children and their families, they were very precious to her.

We are very thankful and appreciative for all our close family and friends that celebrated our mother’s surprise 90th birthday party on September 17, 2021. Our mother was truly surprised and very happy. She said several times, “It was the best day of my life”.

Mom, we love you so very much. While your faith in God and wings were ready, our hearts and souls were not. You’ll be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Thank you for being a loving, caring mother and great Christian role model. Give dad our love. We look forward to being with you again in eternity.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 4:00 pm – 6:45 pm followed by a chapel service at 7:00 pm at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. She will be laid to rest on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

I am so sorry not to be able to attend Carol's funeral because of health issues. I remember her from when I was a little girl and she was not yet married. For as long as I remember, Carol sang in the choir and offered her voice to the honor of God. She was faithful to St. John's and to the choir for over half a century. A kind and lovely woman, Carol was a role model. May she rest in her heavenly home. She will be remembered.

I was so sorry to learn of your mom’s passing while traveling on the East Coast. Our hearts will be with you as you celebrate her life with her service today. A few special memories I would like to share with you. I always looked forward to the potato salad she brought to the family picnics….it was the best! The first time she met Jill ( our daughter whom we adopted as an infant) her comment was “she looks just like all the Johns babies..fits right in”. I really appreciated that comment. When we would get together she always asked how my classes were that particular school year. She looked forward to attending the Christmas concerts in which I played handbells. She would often comment how much she enjoyed them and was looking forward to the next one. She genuinely cared about others. Although she was my “aunt in law”, she was special to me. I am so grateful that we were able to celebrate her 90th birthday with her and see her so vibrant and happy. That is how I will remember her. I’m sure she is now singing in Heaven’s choir!
