Joan passed from this earthly life into eternal life on January 1, 2011 in the company of her family and the comfort of her home after a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born March 7, 1937, the daughter of Edward and Elda Heinze (nee Suring) who preceded her in death. She shared life with her beloved husband Robert for 53 years. As a testament to their marriage and love, Joan is survived by her three children Bill (Jodi), Linda (Paul Emery), and Mike (Debbie). Her grandchildren Amy, Jessica, Christopher, Michael, Tiffany, Rebecca, Justin, and Kaitlin will miss her humor, advice, words of wisdom, but mostly her loving presence in their lives. Jayden, her two week old great grandson, brought great joy to her life. She is also survived by her loving sister Norma Kurtz. Her sister Shirley Goodwill preceded her in death. Other relatives and friends who loved her greatly will miss her wit and the happiness she brought to their lives. The ducklings on Shawano Lake, who have depended on her for food and companionship, have lost a dear friend. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Saturday January 8th from 9:00 AM until 11:45 AM followed by a service at 12:00 PM. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park immediately after the service. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society
