He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 of his 7 siblings; his only son, Jerry Schubert; his only daughter, Karen Cantwell-Lybek; and his wives, Lillian Schubert and Doris Schubert.
He is survived by his younger brother, Eugene Schubert; his caring daughter-in-law, Jerri Schubert; his loving grandchildren, Scott (Laura) Schubert, Tracey (Chuck) Schubert-Lewitzke, Dale (Meggan) Cantwell, and Valerie Lybek-Lyles; as well as his great-grandchildren, Sammy Schubert, Josh Lewitzke, Anna Schubert, Eathon Lyles, Alex Lyles, Caitlyn "CJ" Lewitzke, and Austyn Lyles. He was also loved and adored by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial gathering will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin on Saturday, November 14th, from 1-2:45PM. Memorial service at 3PM. Gil was a proud veteran of WWII and was a successful businessman and owned and operated two businesses, Able Auto Body and Schubert's Old World Saloon and Eatery.
Gil's 93 years were full of love, humor, and strength. Those he loved & who loved him will be left with happy and fond memories.
