After a long and active life, Pius Vetter passed away peacefully on January 16, 2017. Pius was born in Hague, North Dakota in 1922. He was the dear husband of Helen (Rickert), loving father of John Vetter, Ann (Gregg) Wozniak, Margaret Vetter, James (Jane) Vetter, Carol Vetter, and Richard Vetter; loving grandfather to Katherine (Flavio) Rovertoni, Dana Vetter, Sean Vetter, and Daniel Vetter; and brother of Eva (Carl – deceased) Ochs. Pius leaves behind many cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Pius was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph (Kate), and sisters Anna (Florian) Kulas and Agatha (Edward) Suchorski.
Visitation at the Krause Funeral Home, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Additional visitation at St. James Catholic Church, W220 N6570 Town Line Road, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Pius worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps before WW II and during WW II Pius served in the Merchant Marine. Pius and Helen were married for 63 years and he built their family home in 1958. Pius worked for 25 years in the bottle house at Miller Brewery. After retiring early for health reasons, Pius pursued many hobbies and interests, including gardening, bowling, cards, upholstery work, and creating stained glass lampshades. Pius also served as an usher at St. James Church in Menomonee Falls for many years.
