(nee Walker) Passed into Eternal Life on Monday, December 4, 2017. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on September 15, 1928 to Frost and Mabel (nee Owens) Walker. She married Erling Kling on November 22, 1947. Together they raised four children in Sun Prairie Wisconsin until her husband’s death in 1984.
Raising a family, being a loving grandmother and a favorite Aunt, and seeing that all of her children graduated from college was her primary “occupation.” She worked part-time and full-time jobs to make that a reality.
At the time of her death, Gwen resided at Luther Manor in Wauwatosa, WI. She spent her last eleven years living with Alzheimer’s. While the disease stole her memories and eroded her physical abilities; she continued to persevere with occasional glimpses of her joyful spirit ever present.
Gwen was preceded in death by: her husband, Erling; her parents, Frost and Mabel Walker; and her sisters, Lorraine Schei and Constance Walker. She is survived by her children: Kyle (Linda) Kling, Kay (Erik) Huth, Connie Kling and Kent Kling; grandchildren: Jarrad Dann, Simon Kling and Jenny Kling. She is further survived by dear nieces, nephew and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Luther Manor, Faith and Education Center, 4545 North 92nd Street, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin at 10:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:15 AM. Private family burial will follow the service at Sun Prairie Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff at Luther Manor, in particular the CNA’s that provided the day to day care for our beloved mother. We ask no memorials be made to the family.
