Ken Janson passed away on July 17, 2018 at the age of 76. Born in West Allis, WI, Ken was a long time resident of Waukesha, WI.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Angel), his sons Robert (Emily Vaughn), William and Steven Janson and his grandchildren Lily and Reid Janson. He will also be missed by his extended family; Maggy (Brink), Ron, Joe and Jenna Hribar; and Emily (Brink), Dan, Alex and Kate Pfeiffer. Ken is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mary Jo (Madden), his parents, Roman and Sylvia (Jeka) Janson, and sisters Nancy Lee Janson and Christine Sinderman.
Ken was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha and attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Ken joined his father at Wisconsin Centrifugal (now MetalTek International, working his way up from the foundry to the sales department, eventually becoming Marketing and Product Development Manager, retiring after 40 years with the company.
As a boy, Ken enjoyed playing the accordion, especially for his mother. Later, he built and flew remote control model airplanes with his sons and friends. Once Ken was introduced to the game of golf, it became a lifelong passion. He enjoyed many hours golfing with his family and friends. He was a member of Chenequa Country Club and Crown Colony Country Club in Ft. Meyers, FL where he spent the winter months for the last 13 years. Ken also enjoyed his life with Nancy on Beaver Lake. To his grandchildren he was “Captain Ken”.
Ken was a grateful recipient of organ donation on three separate occasions, receiving his first kidney transplant at the age of 42. Ken and his family always kept these donors and their generous families in their thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will take place at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, on Thursday, July 26, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
