Nathaniel Gerald Bowes, born on March 25, 1980 in Stoughton, Massachusetts, raised in North Andover, Massachusetts, and currently of New Berlin, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 2, 2020.
Nathaniel was a graduate of St. John’s Preparatory school in Danvers, Massachusetts (‘99) and Purdue University (‘03), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technology. Nathaniel started to work in the aviation community when he was 14 at Eagle East Aviation in North Andover and his love and passion for airplanes and flight grew from there. After graduation from Purdue, Nathaniel went on to a successful career as a corporate pilot and eventually became the Chief Pilot and Head of the Hinman Company’s aviation department.
Nathaniel’s love of flight was his biggest passion. He was also an accomplished sailor who never saw a piece of water he wouldn’t test. He always had great stories of a vacation, work trip or life experience and it always ended with everyone laughing. He was a loving son, brother, friend and most of all, he was fun “Uncle Nat” to his many nieces and nephews. He would be the first to help show the kids how to do something and to teach them “if you are going to do something, do it right the first time.” He also would continue to teach and carry out the many traditions of his proud father to the children.
He is survived by his loving mother Janine (Robitaille) currently of Englewood, Florida; brother Daniel and wife Andrea of Milton, Georgia; sisters Bethany and husband Joe Calomo of Gloucester, Massachusetts, and Jeralyn and husband Bryan Haber of Shelton, Connecticut; his adoring nieces and nephews Kayla, Michael, Brayden, Ryan, Connor, Andrew and Jocelyn and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who considered him to be like a brother. Nathaniel is preceded in death by his father Daniel J. Bowes. Nathaniel is also survived by wife Brittany, and step-son Keagan, currently of New Berlin, Wisconsin.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eagle East Aviation in North Andover, Massachusetts on January 11, 2020 at 3:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nathaniel’s memory to the St. John’s Preparatory General Scholarship Fund or Eagle East Aviation’s Student Pilot Scholarship Fund.
