Bill F. Lemieux, age 81, a resident of Milwaukee passed away peacefully, and was called home to the Lord, at his home, October 12, 2020. Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from UW Oshkosh and gained his master’s degree in History from UW Milwaukee. He then earned his state certification to begin teaching special education. He was passionate about his Catholic faith. He participated as a communion minister for the Milwaukee Catholic Home. Bill also sat with many people ill and dying from AIDS. He was an advocate for the needy and vulnerable. Bill was known for his elaborate Christmas dinner every year and his home remained open to all. Bill was active in politics. He assisted presidential candidate John F. Kennedy’s primary in Wisconsin. He also served as a personal aide to John F. Kennedy during the presidency. Bill co-authored a campaign manual for Senator Eugene McCarthy. Another important part of Bill’s life was the decades of teaching in MPS. There he taught special education to cognitively disabled and emotionally impaired children. Bill was loved like a father by, Joseph Hanus, David Subat, Joseph Radoszewski and Eric Klassen whom he considered his sons. Preceded in death by his parents William and Shirley. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at SS. PETER & PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2490 North Cramer Street, Milwaukee, WI 53211.
