Randy was my first Boss in the Fluid Power Industry. 1980 was when I first met and worked for Randy at Pneucon/Amot Controls. He made an immediate and immense impression on me as a young man. Never forgot him or how he influenced me. Can’t even estimate how many times over the years I’ve told stories about the “best boss I ever had”. I remember unending cups of coffee he drank every day, incredible intelligence, patience of a saint and that upbeat personality of his. He was one of a kind. So very sorry to hear of his passing and the most heartfelt condolences to his family.

I had the pleasure of working with Randy for over 20 years as Regional Sales Manger for Versa Products Co.
Thinking about Randy I’m reminded of the saying “lead, follow or get out of the way.” He certainly led, with energy, enthusiasm and above all, leadership. He cleared the way for the rest of us to follow and garnered our respect in the process.
The kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back, which he did for me, sort of. I was visiting the New Berlin office one very cold and snowy morning and then later that day driving to Eau Claire. As I was leaving Randy asked if I had a winter coat, I said something about a raincoat in my suitcase and with that he handed me a hooded, heavy winter coat. “Take this just in case.” I never knew if it was the one he wore to work that day or a spare he kept in the office.
Randy was one of a kind and will be missed.
