The Legacy
Forthune Sahib Hasan ( Humphrey Jr.) was born November 12, 1945 to Hazel Marie Eslick (Edna Olive Hawkins) and Forthune Humphrey Sr. in Saint Louis City, Missouri.
Forthune went to various schools throughout his life and although he never received the opportunity to walk across the stage, he made sure all 7 of his children did.
Forthune accepted Islam early on and changed his surname of Humphrey to Hasan which means handsome, good, and benefactor. He was all of these things and so much more to those that loved him.
Over the years, Forthune became successful after earning his locksmith and carpentry degree to become the owner of Master Construction LLC.
Forthune was a pillar in the community and molded the lives of many young men and women while keeping them out of trouble. He provided youth with not only jobs, but skills for life. To know him is to love him.
Forthune departed his physical life on February 22, 2021, at home surrounded by his wife and children. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers, two sisters, brother-in-law, mother-in-law, and favorite nephew Cody.
Forthune leaves to cherish his legacy: his wife, Joan Riley-Hasan and 7 children: De-Borah, Shantel, Scheherazade, Dyonyca, Tylandja, Trimaine, and Yovonkca.
Also, a host of grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
