Buzz Whitaker
Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Cynthia (nee Fields) for 53 years. Proud dad of Teresa Whitaker, Cheri Reynolds, Shannon Whitaker, Kaycee (Casey Moriarty) Whitaker. Grandpa of Danielle, Christina, Aaron, Alex, Rachel, and Charley. Great-grandpa of Izzy, JoJo, Mei, and Sylvia. He will also be missed by Jason Sperry who was like a son to him, pet Teddy, and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Elbert “Whit” and Bernadine “Bee” (nee Hill) Whitaker, sister Joan, and beloved pets Molly and Muffin.

 

Buzz was a proud Marine Corps veteran who served in Japan during the Korean War and was a member of the Marines of the Bitter Root in Montana. He also owned Karen’s Carpets, a floor covering business. Buzz was a true prankster and only those who knew him know the true extent of his “sudsings”.

 

Prior to moving to the Milwaukee area, Buzz and Cindy lived in a variety of places including Costa Rica; Traverse City, MI; Sacramento, CA; and Victor, MT. Buzz loved seeing new places and travelled to over 70 countries.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
